Event Details

With the youth, one of our main priorities is to teach them how to study the Bible. We don’t want to just have them come listen to what they are supposed to think or how they should live. We want them to have such a strong connection with the Word, that they discover on their own what it is telling them, and let them figure out how then they should respond and live.

This Bible Study Boot Camp is a one-day session that covers the complete series that we teach with the youth on how they should approach Bible study and interpretation. It will cover:

  • an introduction to the Bible
  • a short survey of the Old Testament
  • a short survey of the New Testament
  • an overview of the 3 types of Bible translations
  • how to do a Bible word study
  • the rules for Bible interpretation

This course is designed primarily for new members of the youth group in order to introduce them to our approach to discussing the Scriptures, and for students who have been through it before but want a refresher. However, any other adults who would like to participate are more than welcome to join this session too! It’s not “kids-focused” content, but good material for anyone who wants to dig deeper into study of the Scriptures.

Note: We’ll meet in Hartridge Hall, and pizza for lunch will be provided (free for youth, $5 chip-in for adults).
