The youth had another GREAT night doing the parking fundraiser at the church for some of the Christmas festivities downtown!

We always finish work like this with a little ice cream treat at @scoopson5th and hanging out downtown... usually with a stop in @barrelofbooks. And this time, we got in a few minutes time to play in the snow before they started cleaning it up.

This group always works hard, and plays hard! There`s definitely a lot of reason to be excited about the next generation in our church!

Had a great time parking cars with the youth tonight for the Christmas Walk event in downtown Mount Dora! It turned out to be a great fundraiser for the youth.

And then we headed downtown ourselves for a little treat and to check out the holiday festivities and lights.

We`ve really got a great, fun community!

It`s the great stedwardsepiscopal family ministry Halloween party, Charlie Brown!

It`s such a fun night that I always forget to take more pictures. But we always get the big group photo. And it`s cool when I can get 40`ish people to come and just experience community and connection with one another.

I think what really makes is special is not just the gathering of some friends, but doing it outside and all of us connecting with other neighbors and families all evening.

If you`ve read The Magicians nephew, then you know what the green and yellow rings are for.

So when we`re doing a read along of the book with our youth and children`s ministry on Wednesday nights, this is the craft we do for chapter 2... pipe cleaner rings!

I had the opportunity to represent the stedwardsepiscopal youth group today for the high school`s theater group as they did their Gratitude of the Stage event, which they hold during the week before their big performances.

I had the opportunity to come feed them and then share with them on the topic of gratitude and thankfulness.

After I shared, they took turns blessing and sharing gratitude for each other and others who have supported and/or inspired them.

And dude... it was inspiring to watch these youth pour out their hearts to one another. I loved seeing them be there for each other and the impact those relationships has had on their lives.

I`m already looking forward to the next one, and being there as a support and resource for those kids!

Today our youth group held its annual Bologna Toss Competition, and it didn`t disappoint! It was a fierce battle as everyone tried to dethrone the reigning champ, Hope (who has won it three of the last four years).

Round by round, tossers dropped as we increased the distance eventually for an all-girl final four. Then two more dropped, leaving the final two going head-to-head in a dramatic kiss-off, with Hope landing her final toss for her FOURTH championship in the last five years!

As usual, everyone had a blast. And if any youth come home and ask for a pack of bologna to throw at your sliding glass doors, it`s because someone needs to take down Hope next year!

So I know that there are a TON of #hurricanemilton cleanup posts getting out there, but I just gotta say that that I`m so proud of our youth...

They went beast mode on the cleanup efforts at the church today. And so many of them WANTED to be out there to clean up (when they could have had a relaxing Saturday morning on devices/screens). 💪

Their desire to serve is one of the big things that keeps me fired up about serving and training them in how to be great Christians who make a difference in the world around them.
